In this experiment an electronic scale will be used to determine the torque on a current-carrying coil in a uniform magnetic field. The magnetic torque on the coil is balanced with a mechanical torque produced by hanging small weights on one end of a balance beam upon which the coil is mounted. A. Equipment 1 5-amp Power Supply, 1 500-mA Power Supply, 1 Pair of Helmholtz Coils, 1 Electronic Scale, 1 5A Current Shunt, 2 Digital Multimeters, 1 100-turn Coil with Balance Beam. B.
