DASHBOARDS 2 Dashboards Implementation of healthcare procedures and policies are safe guards for standardized care in daily operational activities provided by personal practices, organizations and interprofessional team members. Creation of healthcare procedures, and policy were to assist in communication to employees about organizational outcomes. Policy and procedures assist the employees in understanding their roles and responsibilities within the organization. Necessity of healthcare policy and regulations along with standards of care ensure compliance while in turn providing safe healthcare to all individuals (Mota, 2017). Dashboards contain reports and clinical data along with statistics in graph form to promote and improve quality of care and safety for individuals. One in twenty patients will develop nosocomial infection while receiving medical care according to the Center of Disease Control (Office of Inspector General, 2018). Blood stream infections in central line patients equal about 42,000 patients (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2019). When designed appropriately dashboards have the ability to increase awareness in areas that may require enhanced performance (Office of Inspector General, 2018). Duke University Medical Center Duke University Medical Center has six major patient care facilities from Duke University Hospital, Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center, Duke Medicine Pavilion, Duke Cancer Center, Duke Clinic and North Pavilion. Duke offers medical practice along with complementary therapies with personalized strategies for each individual to restore and maintain their health. Hospital multispecialty care provides surgical, radiology, cardiology, and cancer

In regards to the gender of patients treated at Duke University Medical Center the ratio is 73% women and 27% are men (Duke University Medical Center.
