Chapter 4 Solution Stoichiometry A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances; in CHE 101 water will be the major substance (the solvent) and the minor substance(s) is the solute(s). A. Solution Concentration The amount of solute in water is measured by the molarity. Allows us to examine quantities using solutions (solution stoichiometry). M = moles solute h solution molarity = moles solute volume of solution in liters
