Emotional Advantages Without recess children are prone to repercussions of remaining in class all day such as: anxiety, stress, pressure, and depression. Over-scheduled kids are more likely to become fidgety in class without recess. Kids need unstructured time to blow off some steam, and if they are not given that time, it could affect their ability to stay focused and learn in the classroom. Recess is such a popular time with the children. It’s very important that a child has a choice. It is a time for children to relate to their friends. Play is child’s work.
