Many studies have been done to prove that videogames help the human condition and mind. Other studies have been done to prove that videogames are harmful and are detrimental to humanhealth and mind. Then there are people who do not really care at all about videogames. Many people are baffled to hear that videogames are actually beneficial to an individual's mind and health. Along with this many people do not believe that videogames can help without evidence asproof. This is what Doctor Bavelier provides within the Ted Talk. The Ted Talk speaker Doctor Bavelier explores three ways that people who play videogames have an advantage over those who don’t have them and provides examples. Doctor Bavelier's end goal is to not only show that videogames are beneficial to health and mind but hopes to create a game for all age to utilize to assist them in life, such as health problems with eyesight. Using logical analysis, the neuroscientist is trying to inform but also sway the audience in the favor that videogames are an asset to human health. The speaker also employed ethos using her title as a neuroscience doctor to support the claims she makes about videogames and the ways they can be useful. The speaker appears to suede the audience in believing that videogames are beneficial because many as the show goes on become more invested in what the doctor says. A constriction the doctor had is thatshe didn’t appeal to the audience emotions. I know many people who despise videogames under the impression that they cause violence these claims usually come from a place of emotion directed at the topic instead of logical thinking.
