Often, the problem we want to solve is not clearly one type of model or the other (Matlab/Simulink) We may have existing code we want to reuse a particular routine that is not easily implementable in Simulink In these cases we can use the functionality of matlab within our Simulink model How to do this? There are two primary methods (of interest to us) for implementing such a scheme; 1. The Fcn block 2. The Embedded Matlab Function block We will consider each of those today The Simulink fcn block This block allows you to enter your own function into the simulink model.
