I. Purpose This lab demonstrated the principles behind caloric expenditure and the relationship between heart rate and oxygen consumption. By measuring heart rate and oxygen consumption, we were able to generate an equation from the relationship between the two. We were then able to measure heart rate during different exercises and use our equations to estimate oxygen consumption and caloric expenditure. II. Results 1. Data sheet and graph attached.
