McInerney is director of the Foundation for Genetic Education and Counseling and has been involved with genetics for over thirty years. He uses his own research along with other research to see if there is links between genes and molecular biology to human behaviors, diseases, personalities, and disorders. Through his research he has found certain links to diseases and disorders, but no certain link between genes and criminal behavior. He does believe though that certain genes or pieces of genes link certain behaviors and personalities. 2. Alper, S. Joseph. (1995). Biological Influences on Behavior. BMJ, 310, 1. Retrieved February 11, 2008, from http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/310/6975/272 The Author Joseph S. Alper is a professor at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. He looked at studies linking genes and criminal behavior from the past and saw they limitations of this research.
