Michael Patino 01115539 Chem 1122-Trupta Experiment 2- Determination of the Density of a Liquid or Solid Objective / Aim of the lab- The objective of this lab is to allow the experimenter to be able to determine the density of a liquid or solid by measuring the mass and corresponding volume of increasing quantities of the substances. The slope of the straight line that best fits the data will represent the density the substance. Through density determination, one will learn to use graphs of data to calculate the results of an experiment. Introduction/background information- During the procedure in finding the density of a liquid, weighing the 100-mL graduated cylinder on a balance was key in finding the results correctly. My partner and I measured the mass of the graduated cylinder in six sequences. Each sequence had a greater amount of distilled H20 (water). We attempted two trials just to make sure our data was correctly taken. During the
