Ions that do not appear in the equilibrium constant do not affect the equilibrium. Solubility product constants are defined by the strengths and types of bonds in the solids. Know how half reactions are combined to make balanced equations for real reactions. Become familiar with the table of redox couples, and understand which reactions are favored, and which types of species typically act as the oxidizing agents and which are usually reducing agents.
