Lauryn Soorani FA 150 Kenny Berger April 9, 2009 Jeff Koons’, “Blue Dog (Blue)” 1994-2000 Jeff Koons’ piece, “Balloon Dog (Blue)” is a literal replication of a balloon animal dog. However, unlike the notably small, delicate, and transparent item his piece is replicating, “Balloon Dog (Blue)” is over ten feet high and is made of high chromium stainless steel. As seen in his other pieces such as “Sacred Heart (Red/Gold)”, “Rabbit”, and “Balloon Flower”, there is a painstaking level of perfectionist detail. The replication is undeniably perfect, looking as if it were created in a factory mold.
