Brittany Burkhart Professor O’Leary-Rockey 22 August 2009 IDS310 The moral of the episode is to make sure you know what you are wishing for, because it just may come true. The girl wished bad upon people that she felt were disobeying the lord, and that is what they received. However, she did not want them to be punished as bad as to be killed. The “good guys” are the two brothers that came to help rid of the ghost of Jacob Karnes. They did what they thought would end the murderers that followed the young girl and protected her when needed. They eventually solved why the ghost was following her and brought peace. The bad guy was the ghost that murdered anyone the girl felt did wrong. The “American Hero” would be more than one in this case. The two brothers burned Jacob’s body in his grave. When he was not gone after this, they figured out that the girl was wearing his cross necklace. They burned this as well so that the evil spirit would no longer bother the girl, or anyone else.
