Unformatted text preview: ilver concentrations in the range 0 < x 0.5 and for temperatures in the region 150 K < T < 650 K . The AgxTiS2 samples used in this work were prepared by thermally intercalating Ag into TiS powders. The intercalated powders were 2 4 calibrated using X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction techniques. Values obtained for the critical temperature Tc were in good agreement with previously reported results and there was no measurable hysteresis in the transition. The la-tter result is consistent with the predicted second order nature of the transition.
