The purpose of this source is to show the perspective of child soldiers. This tormented kids give themselves names like “Dead Body” and stress the importance of rank (captain) which is obtained by following orders without questioning and killing (Ashby s12). Also this source explains the atrocious methods the RUF uses to recruit soldiers. I plan to use this article in my paper by putting a part, or if necessary the whole conversation between Ashby and a child soldier. I will also quote or paraphrase the process of recruitment the RUF uses, and the story of the twelve year old child who was captured and then forced to kill (Ashby s11-s12). Murphy, William P.
