Diego Hernando October 25, 2007 MUSC-200-532 Isaac Bustos Assignment 2 In-class performance of October 18, 2007 Zane Forhsee is a guitarist from Baltimore Maryland who won first prize in the National Guitar Workshop International Solo Guitar Competition and also the first prize in the Baltimore Music Clubs Strings competition. He is a talented guitarist that played for the Guitar Heroes class at Texas A&M on October the 18 th . He first played Mallorca a piece by Isaac Albeniz (1860-1909) a Spanish pianist and composer, Mallorca is part of his most famous work Iberia, a suite of collection of music from cities of Europe, originally made for the piano. Then, Forshee played 3 Sonatas, K.14 K.213 and K.178, by Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1755) an Italian composer during the Baroque Era, Spanish influence can be found in the over 500 sonatas he wrote, mainly in the form AABB, or binary form. The third piece Zane played was Cuban Landscape with Bells by Leo Brouwer (b. 1939) a Cuban guitarist, who uses extended techniques and a lot dissonant chords in many of his pieces. The fourth piece played in the program was Vals No. 4, Op. 8 by Agustin Barrios (1885-1994) a Paraguayan guitarist and composer considered by many one of the greatest, his compositions can be divided in three categories: folkloric,
