May 1, 2009 The Challenge of Fundamentalism by Tibi – Book Review Mark Twain once said, “I never let schooling interfere with my education.” I think that the current form of education system in United States does not provide a good medium for education. However, this is not true in all cases, but I feel that when it comes to the textbooks, they do not aid in education. I am often left with rather useless information that I forget after the course. However, this course had many readings that actually helped with education. Bassam TIbi’s book “The Challenge of Fundamentalism” is an example of this education. I think the book does an excellent job in giving an overview on how fundamentalism works in the status quo and how it would operate under different alternatives. Tibi propose the problems by providing the necessary support. One of the main things that TIbi does an excellent job is counter arguing the arguments made against the claims that he is making. He also looks at the common misunderstandings that most people have against
