The test will cover §§ 8.2-8.5 § 8.2 You need to know what a series is, what it means for a series to converge/diverge (and how that is different from a sequence converging/diverging). You need to know the n-th term test for divergence. You need to be able to recognize a geometric series and determine if it is divergent or convergent (and if convergent, what it converges to). You need to be able to recognize a telescopic series, determine if it is convergent, and, if so, what it converges to. You need to be able to express a repeating decimal as a ratio of two integers (i.e., as a fraction). §§ 8.2-8.4 You need to know and be able to use all of the series convergence tests discussed in these sections (we talked about all of them in class): nth-term test for divergence, harmonic series, telescopic series, p-series, integral...
