ECE2801: Foundations of Embedded Systems Lab Exercise #3 -- C Term 2009 Analog-to-Digital Conversion -- A Battery Testing System In this laboratory you will use MSP430 to implement  a system that can test  the voltage of a AA battery over time.  The main purpose of the assignment is to  gain some experience using MSP430's analog-to-digital converter. However, you  will have to make use of some elements from previous labs like timers, decimal- to-ASCII conversion and text display of results.   Assignment:   Many (most?) embedded systems are powered by batteries. As a result,  battery life and battery reliability are a crucial part of product life and reliability.  Most small batteries are rated in terms of their voltage and their capacity in  milliamp hours.  However, actually battery voltage is a function of the current  being drawn by its load, and actual capacity depends on many things such as the  battery's age, storage conditions (temperature and humidity) and discharge  conditions.  Design of  products that advertise a shelf life and a reliability will  almost certainly involve battery testing. ( http://www.duracell.com/oem/primary/alkaline) Requirements : In implementing the battery tester you are required to complete each of the  following tasks.  You do not have to complete the tasks in the order listed.  Be  sure to answer all questions fully in your report.
