Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to investigate static and kinetic friction and to determine the coefficient of friction between various surfaces. Materials: wooden block two one kg weights (one with hook) force sensor sheet of sandpaper computer interface steel sheet piece of string Procedure: Please see the attached handout. Observations: Below are graphs that display the static and kinetic friction between the wooden block and the various surfaces that it was on.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
