Equipment: ¾Audio Oscillator Module ¾Master Signals Module ¾Quadrature Phase Splitter Module ¾Multiplier Module ¾Adder Module ¾Oscilloscope General Information: There are three well known methods of SSB generation using analog techniques, namely the filtermethod, the phasingmethod, and Weaver’smethod. In this experiment the phasing method is examined. An SSB signal may be derived from a DSBSC signal by the use of a suitable bandpass filter commonly called an SSB sideband filter. The phasing method of SSB generation requires an accurate phasing network, or quadrature phase splitter (QPS). The QPS operates at baseband, no matter what the carrier frequency is.
