Grading and Assessment Criteria This course is assessed as follows: Exam 1 20% Exam 2 25% Exam 3 25% Quizzes 20% Attendance, Homework & Participation 10% As explained in the “course objectives” section of this syllabus, exams and quizzes are designed to assure that you have grasped the basic material that is expected of students who enroll in this course. All questions on quizzes and exams are based directly off of materials presented in the chapter reading, class, handouts and assigned homework. Approximate cutoffs for grades are as follows: A = 94, A- = 90, B+ = 87, B = 83, B- = 80, C+ = 77, C = 73, C- = 70, D=65, F = below 65 Percentages shown above are approximate. I reserve the right to alter some of the overall grade weights as final grades are computed at my discretion. I do not round up to the nearest whole number when translating numerical grades into letter grades.
