Unformatted text preview: Climbing Fbres originate from the inferior olive. This receives input from proprioceptive afferents. Neocortex sends afferents to Pontine Nuclei. Other afferents are Vestibular Nuclei and dorsal nucleus of Clarke. Inputs: Purkinje cells inhibit the deep cerebellar nuclei Marr-Albus Theory of motor learning in the cerebellum Plasticity occurs if parallel Fbre synapse is active at the same time as the climbing Fbre input to the post-synaptic Purkinje cell. Long-term depression (LTD) of parallel Fbre synapses occurs. But this is with input speciFcity. Motor learning depends upon LTD at the parallel Fber synapses; effectively suppressing inhibition via the CS....
