Unformatted text preview: Lab experiment date: October 3, 2008 Name: Eric Andrysiak Lab Day: Friday Lab time: 5:30am Lab instructor: Jones Lab number: 6 Title of experiment: HDL and Logic Design Write a technical response to each of these questions. What is the first step in solving a story problem design. For each of the three circuits: Discuss its operation. Discuss the role of each input and output. Discuss the method of describing its operation in AHDL. Discuss the strategy you used to simulate its operation. Describe a useful application of such a circuit? 2-bit adder • Takes two 2-bit inputs and adds them together to make a make a 3-bit binary number • There are 4 inputs and they are split up into two 2-bit inputs that are added up to create a 3-bit output • Uses 3 boolean equation to express each bit in a 3-bit binary number • I took the schematic we were givin in the lab and translated that from a graphical drawing, to boolean equations • Be used as a very basic calculator, or GIANT abacus BCD Converter...
