Interstate commerce-trade among the states 2. extralegal-not sanctioned by law 3. anarchy-political disorder Notes: The Convention Begins- -George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, James Wilson, Governor Morris, James Madison (Father of the Constitution-author of the basic plan of government) -Washington chose to preside over the meetings -each state-1 vote -no meetings unless 7 of 13 delegates present Key Agreements- -limited and representative gov -powers of the national gov should be divided among legislative, executive, and judicial branches -necessary to limit power of states to coin money or to interfere with creditors rights -strengthen the national gov Decisions and Compromises- a. Virginia Plan- -strong national legislature with 2 chambers (Lower-chosen by people) (Upper-chosen by lower) Legislative-powers to ban any state laws it found unconstitutional -strong national executive to be chosen by the national legislature
