GEOG100 0103 Ecological Footprints Ways to reduce our footprint are: using cleaner transportation, such as walking, public transportation, or carpooling, adding energy saving features to your home, such as cfl bulbs and adding insulation, adopting energy saving habits, such as turning off lights and appliances after use, keeping the thermostat low in the winter and higher in the summer, and choosing more efficient appliances, eating more local grown and organic foods, gardening, eating less meat, and eating food with less packaging, choosing sustainable building materials, furnishings, and organic cleaning products, adopting water saving habits, buying less, recycling more, and purchasing recycled products. No, I do not think we will go to war to protect our giant ecological footprints.

Changing light bulbs to cfls, buying organic products / recycled goods, purchasing a hybrid car, and starting a garden, only brings about positive features. As more people become informed of our current ecological footprint and future consequences, they begin positive trends such as switching to organic products, switching to more efficient appliances, energy saving lights, and buying hybrid or more efficient vehicles. Now people know the ecological footprint they are leaving and following the positive trend towards buying, eating, and living more efficiently, leaving as smaller footprint....
