A correct solution is worth the same as a quiz to both of you. The goal here is to generate a plot of the generalized van der Waals equation of state in dimensionless variables π =P/Pc, ν =v/vc , and τ =T/Tc, and to investigate its accuracy. Use the information in you class notes to check my derivations for the equation of state and chemical potential of the van der Waals fluid. Plot π vs. ν for the critical isotherm τ =1 and for various values above and below it, say τ =0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0. I think you will need the π-axis to range from 0 to about 4 and the ν-axis to range from 0 to about 10 to get a good plot.
