Unformatted text preview: EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT #1 The following assignment is worth up to 15 point extra towards your final grade. I repeat that a single point on these extra credit assign- ments is more difficult to get than a single point on an exam, so these assignment should not be thought of as easy ways to boost your grade. However, they allow a motivated student to offset a single bad perfor- mance with some thought and effort. Note that each problem has its own point value. If you cannot do one problem, you may still use the result of that problem in later problems , if that helps. For example, if you cannot do Problem 1, you may still use the result of Problem 1 to solve Problem 2, at no penalty to your score on Problem 2. You are permitted to work in groups no larger than four total peo- ple , but each person must submit their own write-up of all solutions.
