at rest. In other words, if the net force is zero, the acceleration is zero. If EF=U then a=0 I Newton’s First Law is sometimes called the Law of Inertia. I For oosenrations to conform to Newton’s First Law the frame of reference must
he an inertial reference frame, not accelerating. Whether an object is at
'rest' or is observed to more with *constant velocity' depends on the inertial
frame of reference from which obsewations are made. An object appears to
