Objectives To examine culture from the perspective of self  and identity groups. To gain knowledge of and critically evaluate  the  construct of individualism-collectivism (I-C) as a  dimension underlying cultural variation. To gain knowledge of cultural differences in self- concept and consequences for behavior and  development using the concept of independent- interdependent self construal.
