ENGL 102 DB2As I reflect upon the literature, we read throughout this course, I believe it can all be used as a Christian witness. None of us are perfect and many of God’s biggest followers in the Bible and his prophets struggled with sin. As with each of the plays, peoms, and short stories we read, theystretched our minds. I was deeply disturbed reading ‘The Lottery’ and at first felt it was something completely inappropriate; however, as Christians we do have to go outside out comfort zone. It can help us grow as Christians. Othello’s love for his wife became one of jealousy and envy. He had trust in her until he allowedhis trust to be placed in someone else and in the lies, they told him about her. He went from loving her and trusting her, to having uncontrollable jealousy for her so much so that he killed her. God wants and calls for us to love as he loves us; however as in 1 Corinthians, 13:4-5, it says, “Love is patient, love it kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.”
