Unformatted text preview: Patterns and Squares By: (Name removed) Patterns and Squares (Name removed) • For my creative assignment, I chose to take pictures of checkered patterns I see everywhere. When deciding what my subject should be, it occurred to me all of the checked patterns I see everyday; but never really take into account. Whether playing a game of checkers or walking down the aisle at a popular department store, and whether we notice it or not; checkered, square-on-square patterns are all around us. Whether it is a standard black and white, red and black, any other color scheme or none at all, this pattern shows up consistently in everyday life. • I felt that this subject would make a good choice for my photographic essay because this basic format of square-after-square is simple and unsophisticated, but at the same time so versatile we use it all the time to convey an appealing image in many everyday items.
