Chemistry 151 January 25, 2008 Balance Lab Performed January 24, 2008 Purpose: The purpose of the lab is to learn how to use a simple balance to measure mass, graph data, and make inferences based on the data. The following data was obtained by balancing pennies and nickels: Nickles Pennies 0 0 1 2 2 4 4 8 8 16 Putting the data onto a graph resulted in a best fit line y=2x.
