Unformatted text preview: MATH 135 Fall 2007 Midterm #1 Information Date, Time and Location Monday 15 October, 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m, in various rooms on campus. Specific locations will be an- nounced by 12 October. Question & Answer Session There will be a Question & Answer Session held on Sunday 14 October from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in RCH 101, in addition to the regularly scheduled large tutorials at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday 15 October in RCH 101. Material Covered Midterm #1 will cover Blocks I, II, III and IV of the course, including the material from Assignments 1 to 4. The Midterm will not include any problems relating to the material on polynomials that has appeared on the Assignments. Calculators Only the Faculty approved calculators with the Pink Tie stickers will be allowed on the midterm. Definitions, Theorems and Proofs The Midterm may ask you to state definitions. You will be asked to prove at least one of the following results from the course: (i) Proposition 2.11 (ii) Proposition 2.21 (iii) Proposition 2.28 (iv) Theorem 2.31, part (i) In each of these cases, we would state the result (or part of the result) and ask you to prove it.
