Capstone Checkpoint 2 As a medical assistant, I would communicate with the patient by showing him comfort and understanding. I would approach the patient in a calm manner, listen to the problem that is bothering the patient, and treat the patient with patience. As a medical assistant, I would not be allowed to disclose to the patient any type of diagnosis or plan of treatment, so I would try to ease the patient’s fears and concerns through support and validation of his feelings. As a medical assistant, I could also help to ease the patient’s fears and concerns by finding the proper individuals to disclose the information needed to the patient. As a family member, I would try to comfort my family member to the best of my ability. Family members have a completely different role than caregivers do so as a family member. I would be there for my family member both physically and emotionally, I would reassure my family member by letting him know that everything was going to be alright.
