Laura Simon Comm 212 Speech 2 Fireworks Introduction : How many of you have ever been to an aerial fireworks show or used sparklers or firecrackers? If you raised you raised your hand then the show that you saw might have been at a baseball game, an amusement park, New Years Eve celebration, Fourth of July celebration, etc. A fireworks show, if done right can be spectacular, magical, and beautiful. Have you ever wondered how this show occurs with so many colors and different shapes forming in the air? What is launched in the air to make this magical display? Hi my name is Laura Simon and today I will talk to you about how aerial fireworks, sparklers, and firecrackers work. Main Points: 1) Different types of sparkling displays 2) How fireworks work 3) Different types of firework displays Thesis: Fireworks, firecrackers, and sparklers are an American tradition used to celebrate joyous events. Although most people use them, most don’t actually know how they work. To try and better understand think of the combination of sparklers and firecrackers as the building blocks of putting together an aerial fireworks display just like the thunder and lightening that when combined makes a storm. Each part having a different quality that the result contains. Body 1: In order to understand how fireworks work, I will first explain to you how sparklers and firecrackers work.
