Karna Upadhyay Conflict/Cooperation WSJ 2/7/03 Two Palestinians attack Israeli army post Two Palestinian gunmen assaulted an Israeli army post on Thursday and killing an Israeli officer and an Israeli soldier. This is just one of many violent acts throughout Israel, including the killing of a man who stabbed a police officer and the killing of two 21 year old nurses. There are two Palestinian factions that apparently are both claiming responsibility for the attack on the army post, describing it as a “joint operation”. Considering the heightened fear of the world due to terrorism, attacks like these make it very difficult to attain relative worldwide peace. This article reminds me of one of the reasons for the collapse of the Roman Empire. Rome’s empire became too large for them to control, and little tribes throughout Europe kept picking at the edges. That is like the article because there is currently no big war between Palestinians and Israel, but rather a lot of little skirmishes between the two....
