Karna Upadhyay Conflict/Cooperation WSJ 2/10/03 Sharon invites doves to team up with him On Sunday, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called on the defeated Labor Party to join his party in a “unity” government. However, so far the Labor Party has declined joining the unity government that it left in November. The reason they say is that Sharon doesn’t really have any plans for restarting peace discussions. Despite the party’s doubts, the unity idea is widely approved and popular throughout Israel where most citizens don’t want Sharon to make a union with his “natural allies”.

Unformatted text preview: The problems throughout the Middle East, especially Israel, have been very important to America considering our “war on terrorism”. The difficulties throughout Israel have been raging for years and if Sharon is actually pursuing peace, it could make the world a much safer place. This article reminds me of the Renaissance. If the world could come to a relatively peaceful state, it would allow greater advancements in the arts, technology, and philosophy. We may make such great discoveries that those in the future would look at this time period as we do ancient times....
