Karna Upadhyay Conflict/Cooperation WSJ 3/6/03 France, Germany, Russia to use veto On Wednesday, France, Germany, and Russia declared that they would not allow a resolution to pass to use armed force against Iraq. This is a big problem for the Bush administration’s plans to go to war with Iraq. In response, Colin Powell said that we would disarm Iraq whether it’s with the support of the UN or not. This is important news, because without UN support, the US would less likely to go to war with Iraq. On the other hand, the US could go to war and make a lot of enemies out

How the US deals with this could affect us for a long time. This article reminds me of WWII where many countries took one of two sides. Some made alliances with countries like the US and Britain, and others took the side of Germany and Japan. If the world does not agree with us and we still go to war with Iraq, it could lead to WWIII, which would lead to the loss of many lives....
