CONFLICT AND COOPERATION By Karna Upadhyay For my semester project, I have compiled 20 articles, all showing different instances of either conflict or cooperation. The interactions between different countries, or even the interactions within the same country, often affect much more than those directly involved. It is through the study of these interactions that we might learn how to make cooperation a more dominant theme in the world rather than conflict. The following examples have been organized to show some similarities and differences within conflict and within cooperation that occur today. Unfortunately, during these times it seems like conflict is what dominates the news. Homicides and assaults are considered normal to hear about during news broadcasts. I have noticed a couple of similarities occurring in my articles. One of the similarities I noticed was that conflict often leads to violent retaliation. In article #1, which deals with a Palestinian attack on Israelis, and article #19, which talks about Mugabe hurting his opposition, both have to do with one side retaliating for something that the other side did.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
