THE BOOK OF THE DUN COW By Karna Upadhyay To me, The Book Of The Dun Cow has a lot of ups and downs. It never had me so interested that I had to keep reading, but it never had me so bored I couldn’t keep going. It seemed like every time I was about to say, “this book sucks”, something at least mildly interesting would pop up and I would keep reading. My favorite parts of the book were definitely the two fight scenes. The first one, where the animals fought the basilisks was the best part of the book. It was nice and descriptive, but not too descriptive. I also liked how the different animals fought, depending on what type of animal it was. My favorite animal, by far, was John Wesley Weasel. I also liked the fight scene between Chauntecleer and Cockatrice. What I liked most about that part was the suspense of what was going to happen. The actual fight was pretty boring, but I liked the fact that for a while, I didn’t know who was going to win. I just couldn’t see how Chauntecleer could win
