The data set seems to support the assumption that the treatment groups’ cortexes weigh more than the control groups, possibly due to the exposure of “enriched” environment. Other than this, the data seems to be quite evenly spread out throughout the two groups. b) Since all the subjects were taken from a genetically pure strain, the possibility of a genetic mutation still remains possible. By taking two rats and placing one in each group gives the groups a lesser chance of containing genetically mutated subjects. c) The pairing is essential because in order to make a legitimate comparison of both groups, the rats must be genetically similar so to eliminate any bias or potential confounding factors. d) Distribution between treatment and control groups
