eger Log Heading PETE 483 –001 Project # 1 Date Assigned: January 28, 2009 Date Submitted: February 4, 2009 Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger were two brothers that were considered for creating electric well logging. The first well log was created on September 5, 1927 when a crew working for the Schlumberger brothers, lowered the logging tool down a well in Pechelbronn, Alsace France which was considered a resistivity log. Well logging is very important to the petroleum industry because of the many measurements that the tool calculates for example identifying potential reservoir rock, determine bed thickness, porosity, permeability, locating hydrocarbons, estimate water salinity, estimate type and rate of fluid production, locate entry, rate, and type of fluid into borehole, and etc. The Dual Induction-SFL-Sonic log that we have studied in class was of the
