The difference between Arabs and Muslims is that Arabs are an ethnic group and Muslims are a religious group. A Muslim is a person who lives their life in accordance with laws and traditions of the Islamic faith. An Arab is a person who identifies as such on linguistic and cultural grounds. Arabs can belong to any religion. Most Arab Americans come from one the twenty-two nations of the league of Arab states, North Africa, and the Middle East, but most Arabs are not Muslim. Muslims are the followers of a religion called Islam. There are 1.5 billion people in the world today who are adherents of Islam. Not all Muslims live in the Middle East. There are large percentages in Africa and Asia. It is a religion that is growing in popularity. There are Muslim Communities in China.
