Nike Programs 3 Marketing Strategy / Action Program While Nike’s early marketing strategy centered on print publications, they later went on to dominate other mediums, like television in the 80s and 90s, through modern social media platforms today (). Nike has continued to embrace new technology and has moved forward with the times. The company focuses on health especially heart health. It is explained that their products are not only fashionable but serve a purpose. Not only will the products improve athletic performance but will also lead to a healthier lifestyle overall. This a key reason why Nike continues to focus on promoting motivational messages on all platforms. The company continues to focus on its brand message and mission statement. Brand loyalty starts with the brand proving loyalty to its own brand. Nike markets by not attempting to sell the actual product. Instead they tend to sell the benefits of the items. As of currently, Nike primarily markets on social networking sites, media, and miscellaneous events. The company also benefits from advertising with other affiliates. These include both individuals as well as other companies. Nike needs to market where they have an audience present. Since the target audience for Nike includes mainly teens and young adults then it makes social media the best method. Sites that have the most traffic such as Instagram and Facebook. Another big part is through joint efforts. Nike often sponsors campaigns and events that allow for easy marketing. Pricing Strategy Each year, US citizens spend $1.5 billion on dietary supplements and vitamins (Excersicom, n.d.). The average price of vitamins will vary dependent on the specifics. For this line of products, the customers are paying for the brand. Although, many vitamins have similar products, this line will be sold as athletic enhancement vitamins.
