Organic Molecules: Molecules that contain carbon are considered to be organic. Carbon is said to be the most versatile element because it forms strong covalent bonds that are essential for molecular architecture. It forms intricate carbon skeletons that join with other elements and compounds. Organic molecules vary based on the length, shape, and bonding sites of the carbon skeleton. Molecules that only contain carbon and hydrogen are called hydrocarbons . Ex: methane, CH4. All organisms are carbon based. 2.
