The battle lastedfor the longer part of 2 weeks and was one of the bloodiest battles. Out of hundred thousandsoldiers that fought in the battle, the Union,like most of the other battles,had hundredsofmoresoldiers, yet the battle still ended as a draw. Although the odds were stacked against theConfederacy,how did the battle still end inconclusively?From May 8th to the 21st of 1864 the Civil War was still being battled and that week wasrecorded one of the biggest and most bloodiest battles of the War. The battle began on May 8thafter the battle in the Wilderness had ended on May 7th. The battle started when Union GeneralUlysses S. Grant sent an order to attempt to get in between Confederate General Robert E.Lee’sarmy. The only thing standing between General Grant and the Spotsylvania court house was aConfederate general by the name of General J.E.B. Stuart. A portion of General Stuart’s armywas led by General Fitz Lee and was battling for 2 days over the control of Brock Road, whichled straight to the courthouse. Grant’s army continued to push forward to a point where GeneralLee fell back to a raised area called Laurel Hill.Lee had been pushed back to Laurel Hill and
