SOC 220 January 25, 2020 Social Problem Final Essay Social problems occur when a group of dominant individuals identify a social condition as threatening its values, when the condition affects a large number of people, and when the condition can be remedied by collective action (Sullivan, 2016). There are many social problems that exist in America such as drug abuse, alcohol abuse, poverty, human trafficking, child abuse, and many inequalities. The child abuse rate is on the rise in the United States, so let’s look at the impact of social phenomenon, how it aligns with the theoretical perspective, and possible solutions. On a macro level when the abused child reach adulthood they 1
