Jeremy Rachlin Honors Language Arts Mr. Sabatini 1/20/20 A way for someone to have a “below average” weekend would be them dissociating from everyone else. If someone lacks in understanding someone’s actions or emotions it could be a real problem that could affect other people. “This house is so full of people. It makes me sick! When I grow up and get married, I'm living alone! Did you hear me? I'm living alone! I'm living alone!” (Hughes). Once this happens, a person loses their genius and won’t be aware of what is around and will follow the superstructure. “Some days I'm so lost in my mind I forget I’m living on Earth, the universe inside of me demanding I play in its depths, hours have vanished and I have yet to return” (Phaedra). People tend to just try to escape reality and try to live in their own world because they can’t handle reality, they dissociate from everything else to keep their minds intact. “I hope I never see any of you jerks again” (Hughes). No one in the household seems to know what was wrong with what Kevin said because of how dissociated they are and this is demonstrative in showing what is wrong with the family. A blind spot shown in Shaun Tan, The Water Buffalo , Which can cause my generation to have a “below-average” weekend, is when people/living things are ignored (Fremon Craig).
