David Walker's AppealThe true purpose of David Walker's Appeal is to share his beliefs and get a very importantmessage across. His appeal is a radical movement and instills a lively spirit in the black community screaming for change and equality. David Walker believes people of color are equal to those of whites. Slavery is unjust and slaves should rise up and fight for their freedom that they truly deserve. Although never a slave himself his morality is overwhelmed and knows the practice of slavery is brutal and inhumane. Walker believes that this land, America, is just as much the slaves land as it is the whites land. Walker speaks against colonization and strongly concludes America belongs to all those who have built it. He questions the Declaration of Independence asking how all men are free and created equal if there is slavery. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness were just words on paper nonetheless to be actual morals people believed in. Every man/woman regardless of their skin color should have the same rights.
