Michael’s Individual Development I learned a great deal about effective teamwork over the course of the last semester. I learned how to take the initiative and follow through on necessary work. As a team member, I learned to follow the guidelines of my teammates and support the needs of my coworkers. Thanks to the unique management style of the group, time management and group dynamics are also skills I developed in the last few months. All things considered, my skill as a team member and team manager has grown by leaps and bounds. One of the skills I learned while working on the group project is the ability to recognize when to take the initiative. During the data collection phase of the group’s project, I searched out and made connections with the Society for the Creative Anachronism (SCA) and Husky Tae Kwon Do prior to conducting interviews to increase goodwill and encourage more open communication. Also, when the time came to invite guests to the final presentation, it was my initiative that led to the attendance of three
